Are you working on a novel, but need some additional guidance? Maybe you’re looking for a group of fellow writers to give some feedback on your work. Or perhaps you’ve written your first few chapters but don’t know where the story should go. If so, this class may be exactly what you need.

Instructor Elaine Beale says, “It can be challenging to maintain momentum on a project that’s as big and challenging as a novel. And doing it alone can be the biggest challenge of all. I created this class for writers who have made some progress on their novel (from a complete first draft, to a few chapters, to a detailed outline), but who are looking for some structure to help them be accountable. We’ll also discuss craft issues relating to novel-writing, and provide some opportunities for participants to get input on their work.”

In addition to in-class activities, there will be homework designed to help participants make headway. Classes are held every two weeks, allowing time to write and develop ideas between sessions.

Says Elaine, “It’s my hope that, at the end of the five classes, students will make meaningful progress on their project and connect with a group of supportive fellow novelists. I also want everyone to complete the class feeling they have the tools to finish their novel, and to leave feeling confident and inspired.”

This class can be a great follow-up to Elaine’s “Write that Novel!” and will build on the skills learned there.
