“When we write together and share what inspires us,” says instructor Amy G. Latham, “we see our work in new ways, discovering questions we hadn’t thought to ask and creative voices we didn’t know we had.”
In this 3-week generative class, through a mix of discussions and in-class writing and reading activities, you’ll:
- Create new pages in any genre: poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, or hybrid forms
- Experiment with prompts that invite invention, exploration, and deeper engagement
- Exchange ideas, work, and reflections in a supportive community
- Share authors’ published pieces that inspire you, helping to build a collective archive of texts that resonate
Class meetings will emphasize process over polish, encouraging thoughtful experimentation and risk-taking. Central to the class will be timed, prompt-based writing activities to spark ideas, get words flowing, and help you break through blocks.
By the end of 3 weeks, you’ll come away with fresh pages you can feel proud of, a small archive to inspire new writing, and renewed trust in your creative voice.
