“Wait, I think I might be working on a book here!” Sound familiar? Do you think you’re ready to hone in on a writing project such as a novel, memoir, collection of stories or essays? Launch Your Writing Project will help you develop a long-form project in an environment that offers support, accountability and feedback appropriate to this mid-stage of the writing process.

In this 9-week class, you’ll share with the group your project goals, questions and concerns about your writing process, and some of the writing itself. Your instructor Shelby Hinte will offer prompt-driven exercises to generate new writing, development advice around planning your project, and light feedback on your writing. Craft-focused discussions and personalized reading lists will be tailored to your genre and project interests.

“You will not receive extensive editorial feedback in this class,” says Shelby. “Rather, we will build a supportive environment where you can find encouragement and solutions as you work through any issues or obstacles in your writing.”

By the end of class, you will have an organized and more fully realized project and tools and strategies to move onto the next stage of development.

*Students will fill out an info sheet prior to the start of class which describes their projects and allows for customization of student experience.

Reviews
  • Shelby is very warm and inviting in her style, which facilitated a welcoming atmosphere in the class. She also does a really good job of listening to our responses and pulling out interesting gems to reiterate. I always felt heard and understood.
