SUMMARY:The Salon Reading Series with Katharine Harer\, Shelby Hinte\, Kuang Lee & Ben Nannini
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][mk_circle_image src=”https://www.writingsalons.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/katharine_harer_2022.jpeg”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1694454806456{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Katharine Harer loves teaching creative writing. She has worked with hundreds\, maybe thousands\, of students in her over thirty-year career as a community college writing teacher at Skyline College and as a private workshop instructor. Katharine has published seven collections of poetry\, the most recent\, Deconfliction\, in 2020\, and a full-length volume of poems\, Jazz & Other Hot Subjects\, in 2016. Her poetry and nonfiction have been published widely in literary journals\, newspapers\, magazines\, and anthologies. Her travel essay Delle Donne appeared in Best Women’s Travel Writing 2016 and a personal essay\, Blue Flags & Painted Crosses\, is forthcoming from Sonora Review in Tucson.[/vc_column_text][mk_padding_divider][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][mk_circle_image src=”https://www.writingsalons.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/ben_nannini-scaled-e1694129109519.jpg”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1694125032109{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Ben Nannini is a writer. He doesn’t normally talk about himself in the third person. As he writes this bio\, he is using the words “writer” and “he” in relationship to himself for the first time in his life. He has been writing ever since he can remember. His first poem was about Dracula. His first short story was about a robot with a spring sticking out of its chest. He took a Writing Salon Memoir class with Katharine Harer and is now working on a memoir. He also is a mom to a ten year old daughter\, works in marketing\, and loves to cook. He lives in Oakland.\n[/vc_column_text][mk_padding_divider][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][mk_circle_image src=”https://www.writingsalons.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/shelby_hinte-scaled-e1639606000729.jpg”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1694124914266{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Shelby Hinte has led and supported writing workshops at San Francisco State University and in the community\, including teaching creative writing to incarcerated adults and youth on juvenile probation. She is the Associate Editor of Write or Die Magazine where she edits essays and interviews. She has served as a reader and intern at various independent presses including ZYZZYVA\, Split/Lip Press\, and No Contact. Her work has been featured in BOMB\, ZYZZYVA\, SmokeLong Quarterly\, Hobart\, The Rumpus\, and elsewhere.[/vc_column_text][mk_padding_divider][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][mk_circle_image src=”https://www.writingsalons.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/kuang-lee.jpg”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1694125084351{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Kuang Lee is a writer and filmmaker.
